Huge shoutout to the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners for publishing the first-ever paper on therapeutic carbohydrate reduction for type 1 diabetes! This groundbreaking publication, created through the DELPHI process, combines expert consensus and the latest research to present carbohydrate reduction as a viable option for improving T1D care. The paper highlights the shortcomings of the current standard of care, with less than 25% of individuals with T1D in the U.S. achieving target A1C levels. It also outlines how carbohydrate reduction, backed by emerging evidence and expert opinion, could revolutionize T1D management. While there’s still a long road to systemic adoption, this is a major step forward in advancing care for people living with T1D. Watch our latest video as Dr. Bret Scher breaks down the key findings and explores what this could mean for the future of diabetes care!
