Looking back on the past 50 allows us the opportunity to celebrate our legacy and accomplishments as Latin@s in STEM. Your stories and contributions help to ensure the future is even more impactful. We're going to be highlighting the strides SHPEtinas have made in the STEM industry louder and prouder than ever. Brillando pa'lante, SHPE '24! The SHPEtinas Track strives to celebrate and increase Latina representation at all levels of corporate and academic leadership in STEM while affirming the Latina identity and our technical accomplishments. The magic of SHPE takes place at the chapter level. Our local student and professional chapters are the secret sauce to making a nationwide organization feel like Familia. They cater to the specific needs of their members, giving them support, connection, and FUN when they need it most. SHPE may be the nation’s largest network for Hispanic students and professionals in STEM, but we still prioritize the personal needs of our members. Our familia is made up of local chapters - schools, cities, or organizations with their own SHPE chapter. These chapters keep SHPE relevant and accessible to their unique membership with targeted educational events, mentoring programs, and networking opportunities.

The Academic Olympiad Challenge is an exciting and fun academic competition showcasing the brilliance and knowledge of students from student chapters all over. This challenging event tests participants' intellectual abilities, critical thinking skills, and comprehensive expertise across STEM subjects. Teams engage in intense battles of wits, answering thought-provoking questions from categories such as science, mathematics, engineering, history, and more. The atmosphere is filled with enthusiasm and anticipation as these young scholars demonstrate their expertise and quick thinking, striving to outsmart their opponents. It encourages school spirit and supports academic excellence. The Academic Olympiad Challenge promotes healthy competition and fosters a spirit of camaraderie and lifelong learning among participants. It is a unique platform where academic expertise and teamwork are celebrated, creating an inspiring environment for young minds to thrive and shine. The Professionals Track provides a differentiated learning approach to its attendees, granting them a diverse tool kit of skills, knowledge, and experience to be successful STEM professionals. The Professionals Track also offers cross curricular sessions with the Diversity Track and the Entrepreneurship Track to provide a more targeted learning experience. The programming offered focuses on Career Growth and Navigation, Leadership and Life Skills for technical professionals. These sessions offer actionable content for professionals to improve their careers from the moment they return to work.
