Society for Defense and Strategic Studies (SDSS) - Fulcrum Global - at AMU/APUS

The Society for Defense and Strategic Studies (SDSS) at American Military University (AMU), which is part of the American Public University System (APUS) is a collegiate-based organization that is comprised of current students, alumni, and faculty members belonging to either AMU or APU. Our members are people who are dedicated to the study and profession of defense, intelligence, and global strategic studies. The SDSS’s purpose is to enhance advocacy, research, and knowledge that pertain to complex national security issues. Fulcrum Global is the digital media and publishing arm of the Society for Defense and Strategic Studies at AMU/APUS. It was designed to promote the society’s core objectives and to foster a non-partisan environment where ideas and discussions can be exchanged to generate policy suggestions that benefit the United States as a whole. In addition, the other aim of Fulcrum Global is to promote these ideas and policy suggestions, like an academic think tank, by bringing them to the attention of influential policy and decision-makers in the national security, defense, intelligence, and foreign affairs fields. MISSION STATEMENT - To educate and advocate for the study of strategic, national security, global security, and intelligence studies within the collegiate and professional communities. - To research and develop ideas that will contribute to the dialogue and formulation of sound national policy pertaining to global affairs and threats that affect the United States national security. - To serve as a forum and place of dialogue that promotes the exchange of knowledge and ideas between students, academics, and professionals in the fields of defense, intelligence, and global strategic studies.
