This month saw a flurry of new Procurement Policy Notes (PPNs), many with major implications for Social Value. One that stood out was PPN 001, which increases the focus on VCSEs and SMEs by requiring all central departments to: ? Set targets for direct spending with SMEs and VCSEs ? Report progress annually While this applies to in-scope organisations, it sets a powerful example for all contracting authorities. But setting targets alone isn’t enough - real impact comes from collaboration, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing. And many organisations are already leading the way.
