Started modeling the #Threads API for post insights. This has been one of the easier integrations with a social platform. I imagine as more social networks pick up ActivityPub as their spec, this allow less barriers to entry. My Threads integration will need to go through their vetting process, so I'll keep you up to date on how that goes once I'm past the insights integration.

#Threads API Carousel post from #SocialSprinkler. Attaching / uploading images is much easier as the Threads API requires a public URL to upload the image. The past couple of weeks I spent publicly exposing the imagery uploaded to Social Sprinkler via CDN in #GoogleCloud.

Just notified the Threads API came out for public consumption today. I’ll be dedicating the next feature set to it. One of my Facebook pages that uses the API integration doesn’t seem to be displaying to its followers. The shift to pay to play seems pretty apparent. Threads is built on top of ActivityPub spec that can integrate easily with other social media platforms like Mastadon. I’d hedge the future of social and a distributed web will rely more on the ActivityPub / JSON-LD spec.

Throughout all of these integrations for the different social media platforms, Postman has been my tool of choice. Once the OAuth flow has been figured out and I have an access token, I'm able to test out the different parts of the social channel's API. Today, I was able to post to a subreddit I created r/socialsprinkler. #BuildInPublic #SocialSprinkler #Reddit #WebDeveloper #WebDevelopment
