Houston, you left us inspired! Last week, we embarked on a Social Innovation Summit Learning Journey with Walmart, exploring how innovation, collaboration, and workforce development are shaping Houston’s future From The Ion District at Rice University, where entrepreneurs and engineers fuel economic growth, to Ben & Jerry’s Unlock Potential Initiative, tackling economic mobility through inclusive hiring, we saw firsthand how bold ideas create lasting change. At NASA’s Johnson Space Center, we stepped inside the Buoyancy Lab and Mission Control—seeing the precision and teamwork that push human exploration forward. The Houston Office of Emergency Management showed us how public-private partnerships build resilience, while a sunset tour of the Port of Houston highlighted how education and industry are developing the workforce that keeps global trade moving. Every stop reinforced a powerful truth: progress happens when leaders take action, together. A huge thank you to the incredible executives who joined us—bringing these insights back to their companies, communities, and industries, and a special shout out to Patti Constantakis for her parntership in bringing this amazing event together.

I shouldn’t have favorites, but I do! A highlight of every #UNGA for me is the Social Innovation Summit, where I get to hear first hand from movers, shakers, and changemakers in the #nonprofit space on how they’re using #AI to change the world and accelerate mission-driven work. And what better way to listen to their stories than in front of a fireplace on a rooftop in New York! It was amazing to hear from Karin Maasel at Data Friendly Space (DFS) about how AI is impacting the future of humanitarian work, and Nicolas Jaccard about how Orbis International is using AI to prevent, detect, and treat avoidable blindness.
