Julia Ritz Toffoli from ideas42 recently sat down with SIF Executive Director Wyona M. Lynch-McWhite to discuss the pivotal role of Place-Based Intermediaries (PBIs) in driving sustainable social change. Julia shared valuable insights on how PBIs bridge the gap between donors' knowledge and community needs. PBI’s can empower them to make well-informed decisions that create lasting impact. Her words were inspiring and reminded us of all the power of collaboration and understanding within the SIF community and broader marketplace. SIF Senior Program Coordinator Malathi Reddy spoke on the “Career Paths and Social Impact” panel by the Social Impact Lab and Boston College Career Center. She shared her perspectives in a room full of students eager to learn how to build meaningful careers. Malathi told us “Speaking with the students at Boston College reminded me of the same joy I get in working with nonprofit leaders in the Accelerator Program. Through my work, I watch incredible nonprofit leaders deepen their work and create an even bigger impact in their communities. I love being part of their journey and take pride in supporting them - and these students - in achieving their goals.”

Boston Food Forest Coalition, a 2024 Social Innovator, is hiring for a Development Manager! The Development Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of BFFC's Development department. The focus of the role will be on implementing proactive and efficient systems that empower the Development Team to build strong relationships and increase overall fundraising activity. Core activities include optimizing donor engagement, managing their donor database, grant management, and streamlining processes to support BFFC's development goals. This is an ideal role for a highly organized and proactive individual with strong communication skills. They're especially interested in candidates with a passion for food forests and a commitment to working hand-in-hand with communities to create sustainable and resilient green spaces. Key details about the ideal candidate: - At least 5 years of professional experience in fundraising, nonprofit operations, communications or marketing, ideally with exposure to the nonprofit landscape.? - Experience working in a small nonprofit or start up environment, with the ability to wear multiple hats and adapt to changing needs. - Experience and skill with effectively managing up to leaders in a department or team - Experience with event planning and management; and with database management and reporting - Mission-aligned self-starter? - Strong project management and organizational skills - Skilled writer and communicator Mix of in-person and remote work, with mandatory in-person team days on Tuesdays Compensation: $70,800, plus benefits Interested candidates can apply online at this link: https://lnkd.in/eAqQfBrd. After we review applications both internally and with external issue experts, attend site visits, and do additional diligence, we select Accelerator Program Innovators.
