SCG looks forward to welcoming you to Day Two of our Family Philanthropy Conference, Bridging Possibilities, taking place this Thursday, March 6, 2025! Information regarding logistics, accessibility, and parking are available on our conference website: https://buff.ly/J6RgMg9 We are excited to share our final breakout session, Setting the Stage for Exponent Impact: The Journey to Becoming a Spend-down Foundation. While most philanthropy is structured for giving in perpetuity, a small yet growing number of foundations are embracing a spend down approach. Reflecting on its mission and values, the Levitt Foundation made the decision to spend down its assets of $150 million by 2041, recognizing that addressing society’s issues for a better tomorrow requires significant investment in the present—setting the stage for exponent impact. Sharon Yazowski, President and CEO, and Vanessa Silberman, Executive Vice President, will share insights on the Levitt Foundation’s spend down journey, including opportunities for greater impact and deeper grantee collaborations; communicating with transparency and maintaining trust with grantees; the process of designing and implementing a spend down strategy; and best practices for setting a clear course forward with flexibility. Whether you are exploring the notion of sunsetting, or seeking to refine your family’s approach to philanthropy, walk away inspired to examine your foundation’s lifespan as a reflection of your vision, values, and the changing landscape of giving. Speakers will include: → Vanessa Silberman, Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation → Sharon Yazowski, Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation View our full conference agenda on our website: https://buff.ly/bIohUnY #SCGFamilyConference

Day Two of SCG's Family Philanthropy Conference: Bridging Possibilities takes place next month on Thursday, March 6, 2025! Register now: https://buff.ly/3VyzdO5 We are excited to share an upcoming breakout session, Bridging Possibilities: Activating Your Foundation's Values Through Next Gen Grantmaking. Today’s foundations are constantly balancing the intent and traditions established by their founders with the forward-thinking energy of their younger trustees and family members. Intergenerational misunderstandings can easily build, especially when significant changes happen within the foundation. In this session, you will hear from two different family foundation perspectives: one engaging the family’s younger generations to carry forward the legacy of their founder and, the other, successfully experimenting with engaging youth from their community of grantees. The lessons and tools they share will provide a valuable roadmap for your next gen engagement. Speakers will include: → Dawn L Brown, EmpowHer Institute → Alexis Marion, The Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation → Xenia Munnerlyn, Independent Advisor Learn more about our breakouts and view the full conference agenda on our website: https://buff.ly/4ielSn1 #SCGFamilyConference
