Join us for the highly anticipated Keynote Conversation, "Beyond the Possibilities: A Legacy of Leadership." Over the past twenty years, Carrie Avery and Claire Peeps have inspired our family foundation community as they've led the Durfee Foundation to become one of the most respected philanthropic organizations in Southern California. Before Carrie and Claire say their final goodbye, they will join the SCG family philanthropy community for an unforgettable fireside chat moderated by Robin Kramer. Last Friday, members of SCG's family philanthropy community gathered for Traditions of Giving at ALMA Backyard Farms! We are elated to share a few of these wonderful moments below. ?? Traditions of Giving is annual gathering that brings together SCG's family philanthropy members to reconnect and reflect on our collective work. This year, we held Traditions of Giving at ALMA Backyard Farms, an organization that aims to reconnect formerly incarcerated folks into their communities through urban agriculture. Our family foundation members and staff helped prepare a harvest together, learning about the impact of urban farming and strengthening their connections to nature and to each other. This year, SCG held Traditions of Giving as a pre-family conference activity, expanding upon our conference theme of "Bridging Possibilities" by exploring how family funders can strengthen their bonds to their communities and embrace our shared humanity. We invite you to explore these conversations further at Day One of SCG's Family Philanthropy Conference on December 6, 2024: https://buff.ly/3AYkLHy We want to offer our gratitude to ALMA Backyard Farms for hosting us in this space for our annual gathering. And thank you to our amazing staff who joined for this event: Sequoia Thompson, Jan Kern, Monica Banks, Kameron Green, and Morgan Bennett! #TraditionsofGiving
