At Soarce, we create nanocellulose, a material with mind-blowing potential. Cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer on Earth, typically found in plants, but did you know you can also get it from seaweed? Here’s where things get interesting. We take cellulose and break it down to a scale 10,000 times smaller than a human hair. At this level, it becomes incredibly pure and strong—8x stronger than steel while being lighter than carbon fiber. But why seaweed? Seaweed-derived cellulose has longer, stronger fibers and takes 5–10x less energy to extract than cellulose from terrestrial plants. That means a more sustainable, high-performance material with massive potential across industries. If you’re curious about how our nanocellulose is changing the game for manufacturing, stay tuned for Part 2.
关于我们
At Soarce, we are redefining industrial nanomaterials. Our proprietary refining process converts excess biomass into cellulose nanomaterials that make manufactured parts stronger, lighter and at a fraction of the cost. Specifically, Fiberglass & Carbon fiber reinforced parts for industrial sectors like aerospace, automotive, energy, and textiles, have had limited adoption of nano materials due to their high costs and low compatibility. With our process, we have increased nano material compatibility leading to strength increases of final parts by 60% while being 5x cheaper than leading nanomaterials

Lots to be excited about in the NatureTech world! Main things I've been looking at/ investing in recently in the space: ?? Nature-Inspired Replacements:?Using nature based inputs/ nature inspiration for industrial needs. Soarce & SeaStock are key players using seaweed/ asparagopsis as a basis for industrial chemicals and compounds alongside Endolith and BLUUMBIO using engineered enzymes and microbes. ?? Technology to Reduce Biodiversity and Industry Clashes:?Better technologies to protect animals from industrial activities for example, Whale Seeker helping marine mammals avoid clashes with ships or Spoor helping reduce collisions of birds with wind farms. ?? Disaster Prevention and Prediction:?Technologies to help predict or prevent disasters like wildfires or flooding.
The Nature-Based Solutions Startups Should Build Next ?? Funding for NatureTech in 2025 is off to a strong start. As?Colossal Biosciences,?Inari,?NatureMetrics,?Fermata,?Kilter, Nala Earth?and?Cascadia Seaweed?all make fundraising headlines. Will these technologies continue to receive investment in the months ahead, or will new trends take centre stage? We caught up with?8?NatureTech Leaders across venture building, VC, not for profits and consultants to get a better idea of what lies for the future of NatureTech and biodiversity solutions: Eric Gossart @ Serena Susanne Fromm @ Vanagon Camille Accolas @ Brainforest Manuella Cunha Brito @ Mudcake Olivia Brooks @ Founders Factory Gilad Goren @ Nature Tech Collective Mike Kelly @ BiodiversityStartups.com Dr. Philipp Staudacher @ Innovate 4 Nature
