Hate to brag, but... (It's Linkedin) Your brand’s videos should (could) get feedback like this. Not to get "political" but I LOVED trump's inauguration speech. So much so that later that day I put an edit together from it (link to full video below) I didn't make the video for a brand, or because a client paid me, I did it because I wanted to... and yeah, a little to drum up business and show off what good editing can do. The response to it was pretty great, as you can see. I've been making brand videos for YEARS, and they rarely get this kind of positive response. I'd love to hear your reasons, but part of the reason is that people don't care that much about your product/service/brand. They care in it as much as it helps them solve a problem, but it probably doesn't make them "feel" anything... typically. To get to the point, if you want your video content to actually make people stop and care about what you do, you should hit their emotions hard in one of two ways: Make them laugh, or make them feel (cry). How you do that takes a lot of thought and willingness to push outside the box, and really, it takes a really good video editor. Not just someone who can make cool looking videos, but one who understands people. I'll post some videos diving in more, but for now, your videos may not be getting the attention they could because your not giving people a reason to care or take notice of your brand or mission. Your annoying quirks and oddities should be embarrassed , not avoided. "Valuable" content is dead. Our feeds are gushing with the same crap. "5 Ways to Get More Leads in 2025” or “How to 10x Your Sales Overnight.” (Sort of like this one you're reading now... but I'm getting away from this too). Moving forward, the ket to standing out is simple. Lean into you. Your quirks, your weirdness, your personality. CEOs, founders, marketers: people connect with humans, not keywords, or researched insights. Share your stories, your outside-the-office passions, and the real stuff that makes you you. AI is everywhere now. Heck, ChatGPT is my beast friend. But soon, we’ll be seeing AI influencers that look and sound just like us. The only way to stand out is to bring your real self out in the open, scary as it may be. These Ai tools are revolutionizing video marketing. 1. Gling.ai I use this tool daily. It's as close to having a human being rough cut videos for me that I've seen. It's fast, it's cheap, and it never sleeps. 3. Runwayml.com Runway is insane. It's known for it's incredible text to video tools which are crazy, but it has SO MANY OTHER TOOLS. The one I use most is the green screen tool. It will remove backgrounds from your video, any video, and it does really, really well. 3. DESCRIPT I don't use this daily, but it's filled with useful Ai tools, like the ability to have someones eyes fixed on the camera, even if they weren't. Or captions in any language, automatically. 4. Adobe Premiere This is my workhorse daily editor, but adobe has integrated Ai into all of it's tools incredibly well, including Premiere. If you use Premiere, be sure to use the Beta version to see all the crazy tools. Talking Heads videos aren’t for everyone, but you’re creating em, here’s how to make them good, even if you suck. It’s really simple. Videos are powerful because they establish trust, specifically when you have a founder, or CEO talking about what they know best. The problem I see comes when people who aren’t naturally good on camera, try really hard to be good on camera. It comes off as awkward, and in authentic. The easiest thing to do is: 1. Lean into your quirks and your discomfort. 2. Be honest about it. Say it on camera. Make 3. Don’t take yourself or the video so seriously. Be in on the joke - laugh at yourself. In time you’ll get better and better, but you can use your suck right now by using it to make yourself more relatable and authentic to your viewers. So don’t hide it. Don’t edit it out. Lean into it.
