关于我们
Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden (“Snug Harbor”) offers dynamic programming in the arts, horticulture, agriculture and education for diverse cultures and all ages on a historic, welcoming campus that is a unique oasis in New York City. We envision being a nationally visible yet locally impactful cultural organization beloved by all who visit. We value artistic vibrancy, stewardship, conservation, inclusion, community, communication and discovery. Located less than 1.5 miles from the Staten Island Ferry and easily accessible by public transportation, Snug Harbor welcomes nearly 500,000 visitors each year to explore our gardens, grounds and galleries. Our 83-acre campus features 26 architecturally significant buildings and 12 distinctive gardens, including a traditional Chinese garden and a Tuscan garden. A vibrant cultural hub, Snug Harbor is also home to several non-profit institutions, artists’ studios and small businesses. Founded in the 19th century as a charitable rest home for sailors, today Snug Harbor is a growing, must-see destination.

Congratulations to our President & CEO Jessica Baker Vodoor for being selected for City & State's 2024 Arts & Culture Power 100--and a standing ovation to all the honorees on this prestigious listing!
Thank you City & State for including me in this inaugural New York Arts & Culture Power 100 list of leaders, it’s truly humbling and an honor to be recognized in this way. I’d like to say that Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden is a powerhouse place because of ALL of the amazing cultural colleagues (staff, artists and institutions alike) who call Snug Harbor home. I share this recognition with Snug’s entire incredible staff, and all who make Snug Harbor a powerful force for culture in Staten Island, including Janice Monger and staff at the Staten Island Museum , Ciro Galeno at the Noble Maritime Collection, Dina Rosenthal at the Staten Island Children’s Museum, and the myriad of other artists and companies that collectively make Snug Harbor an anchor for culture in Staten Island. It’s a good sign to see many outerborough leaders mentioned on this list, and hopefully we’ll continue to see this list grow over the years because amazing culture happens all across this great City AND State!
