AI in Education isn't for efficiency and productivity only--Amanda Bickerstaff This past Monday, I was lucky to present at Irvine Unified School District's Professional Learning Summit on leveraging AI for student engagement and empowerment in diverse learning environments. Tools like Snorkl that are created by teachers and in partnership with teacher feedback are great examples of how #AI can help teachers see ALL of their students' learning and provide them with multi-modal inputs. In my classroom, I have been blown away by student engagement with math tasks. They are writing, drawing/doodling, speaking about math, and getting support through AI. Where do I come in? One thing I love about Snorkl is the categorization of student misconceptions (see picture). I use this for both my Tier-1 (scaffolding) and Tier-2 (small groups and Tutorial/Opportunity Hour check-ins) to address these gaps. And beyond the technical language about teaching and learning, isn't it amazing just to be able to see and hear what your students understand and don't? #AIForEducation #EducatingTheChild #GenerativeAI
