At Sniffspot, we believe in supporting smaller rescues doing big work. That’s why we chose to back City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue in DC, an organization dedicated to helping animals from under-resourced shelters. We ran a campaign donating $1 for every reel share, and thanks to the incredible support, we were able to raise $2,311! To all the rescue workers: we see YOU, we appreciate YOU, and we’re so grateful for the time and love YOU pour into every animal. Sniffspot enables anyone to rent land by-the-hour as a safe and private dog park We are a unique community In a “me first” world, we put dogs first. We love dogs, we have dogs, we try to give dogs as much overflowing joy as they give us. We believe that dogs have inherent worth, and we care deeply about their well-being. As long as we share a place on Earth, we believe dogs have an inherent right to live a fulfilling, joyful and rewarding life. We believe a more dog-friendly world is a better world. Dogs evolved and were bred in a world where they could run free in fields and forests. Modern society doesn’t carve spaces out for our canine companions and, as a result, dogs in the modern world are having all kinds of problems, like obesity, reactivity, and anxiety. We are coming together to provide safe spaces that allow dogs to let their instincts rise back to the top, to go wild and free, and to just be dogs again. Healing is a beautiful thing to witness. Our Story The Sniffspot story begins in 2016 when founder, David Adams, adopted his first dog, Soba. Soba is a wonderful, outgoing dog with leash reactivity. The year after David met a wonderful woman named Rebecca and her dog Toshii. Toshii grew up on the streets of Altanta and is dog selective. Rebecca and Toshii were traveling for work in Baltimore and Rebecca was having a terrible time just taking care of Toshii's basic needs. There was nowhere she could safely let him off leash. She texted him and said "There has to be a better way, I wish there was an app where I could find places to let Toshii off leash". And that was the light bulb for Sniffspot. Inspired by the idea of making things better for dogs, David put up a simple website and started crowdsourcing yards. Sniffspot has grown from there. Now Sniffspot operates in all 50 states and all around the world. The world is still not dog friendly enough, but Sniffspot is making it a more dog friendly place one spot at a time.
