Where was SnapLands “born”? A working cattle ranch in the Northern Great Plains of eastern Montana. While at Antelope Springs Ranch in 2017, another rancher asked for help and the rest is history. Now, we train, consult, and monitor agricultural impacts on public and private lands through the US and internationally. We are a growing team of vetted land management specialists. Boulder Watershed Collective and Blue Grama use cattle and woodchips in their quest for ecological restoration. As trees are thinned for fire mitigation and forest health, logs are chipped and inoculated with saprophytic fungi. These hard working microorganisms can rapidly break down the wood chips and feed the soil - an alternative to the common practice of burning slash piles after thinning. SnapLands custom impact reports will be used for ongoing restoration. How do we choose what goes into the seed mixes for our prairie restoration projects? Join our Restoration Ecologist, Skyler Smith, as he visits a mixed grass prairie remnant near Norman, OK. One of his jobs is to create custom seed mixes for clients who want to restore native species on their land. Skyler studied Conservation Biology and Restoration Ecology at CSU and joined the SnapLands team in 2020 .

Another client celebration! We are working with Ancient Nutrition and The Rodale Institute to verify ecological and soil health impacts of the F.A.R.M project. Between sample dates in 2022 and 2023 total microbial living biomass increased across all treatments over time. This shows a positive trend of increasing soil microbial diversity and resiliency. #RodaleInstitute #AncientNutrition
