In February of 2020, we received almost 150 of these units in a shipping container from China.
It was our big, bold bet on our fastest growing product at the time: the Selfie Stand.
As our company was growing, we realized there were just too many events for us to cover around the country and that we needed a product we could ship directly to our customers.
The Selfie Stand was born.
It was sleek, fit into 1 pelican case, could be assembled a couple minutes with zero tools and could be branded for various events and marketing activations.
We envisioned a warehouse line shipping hundreds of these every day and we almost got there.
We had REI get 50 of them for a month. Amazon ordered 100 for a year. It was going wonderfully and so we place our biggest order yet:
150 extra to add to our stock of about 100 Selfie Stands.
The extras arrived 1 month before everything shut down. We never used them. Most are still wrapped in plastic, as they were from the factory.
Crazier still, we never went back to them! We got into the tech sector with our web-apps and realized we could scale even faster with software, not hardware
So now, we sell them to clients!
We're slowly purging our inventory and officially disbanding of anything and everything that tied us to hardware and the traditional photo booth company we were.
Adios, Selfie Stands! I kinda miss ya.
