US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT MARCH 17, 2025 FIRST-CLASS FLATS ARE THE STARS OF THE WEEK. First-Class flats?!?Yes, First-Class flats were the stars of the Postal Service last week, with more than 85% delivered on time and only 3.03 days in transit.?This was based on a decent sized sample delivering to facilities across the country.?I’m hesitant to read too much into it – for now it’s just a good week…at least for First-Class flats. As to all the other mail, First-Class letters and Marketing Mail letters and flats, there were no surprises.?Mediocrity ruled.?There seemed to be no facilities driving the poor service – just a general letdown. Service was slow across the board.

US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT MARCH 10, 2025 SERVICE STAYS FLAT IN A NOT GOOD BUT NORMAL PLACE. This is just how long mail takes in 2025.?Service has stayed generally flat for the last few weeks, and just a touch worse than last year.?The biggest difference is in how much First-Class Mail is very late – more than 5 days.?Last week 9.53% of First-Class letters were more than 5 days late. Marketing Mail stayed consistent in terms of on-time percentage, but that which was late was quite late. On-time percentages may not be the most important measure.?Average Delivery Days stay slow across the board.??

US MAIL TRAFFIC REPORT MARCH 3, 2025 ON-TIME DELIVERY DROPS IN EVERY CATEGORY Last week mail took more time to deliver in each category we measure.?First class letters took on average 4.31 days to deliver (average for the week prior 3.46 days) and only 68.4% delivered on time.?First class flats came in with only 51.9% delivering on time.?Marketing mail did a little better, 96.1% of the letters were on time taking on average 2.69 days to deliver (week prior 96.8% on-time and 2.44 average days to deliver).?Marketing mail flats showed 90.3%?on-time delivery last week.
