The homeowner told us he no longer experiences any vibration in his floors and walls from the freight train that passes by his house, plus we are preventing lateral shifting at his windows and doors that were starting to show diagonal shifting cracks. A few months ago, we received an inquiry from a homeowner in Hobe Sound who expressed concerns regarding creaks and movement in his floors and walls. The homeowner mentioned that other engineers had declined to take on the project due to either a lack of interest or availability. At Smyth Engineering, we took on the challenge, developing a comprehensive solution to reinforce the structure. We designed and implemented supportive bracing for the Silentfloor joists at all levels, utilizing 2x4s and 3/8” thru rods. We look forward to completing this project and, as the homeowner put it, 'saving his house.

In order to extend the useful life of the spanish clay tile roofs at the 26 buildings, we utilized a drone to identify damage to the clay tiles and a Flir thermal imager to identify cold signatures to identify corresponding areas of moisture infiltration in order to develop a scope of repair.
