A new study on EPO and EPO receptor agonist (ERA) detection in microvolumetric capillary serum samples showed EPO was stable in blood samples and ERA blood samples can be collected in the field and shipped without costly temperature controls and without loss of detectability. https://lnkd.in/g-H7hf7P #antidoping #cleansport #science

This recent study highlights the instability of EPO and recombinant (rEPO) in urine subjected to conditions like those for shipping anti-doping samples. Detectability of rEPO was the same for urine, venous, and capillary serum samples, and blood is a more stable matrix than urine. The results support use of serum collection for anti-doping testing. https://lnkd.in/eYkZ3Yj9 #antidoping #cleansport #research #science Sports Medicine Research and Testing Lab, Tasso, Inc.
