This month, SMPS Atlanta recognizes and celebrates Native American Heritage Month. We invite you to join us in exploring the diverse cultures that have played a vital role in shaping our nation. According to the 2020 US Census, nearly 4 million people identify as American Indians and Alaska Natives. Let's take this opportunity to honor the rich traditions, histories, languages, and significant contributions of Indigenous peoples. “When you know who you are, when your mission is clear, and you burn with the inner fire of unbreakable will, no cold can touch your heart; no deluge can dampen your purpose. You know that you are alive.” ― Chief Seattle, Native American leader. A great way to explore recent content by indigenous creators is checking out this CultureAlly list: https://lnkd.in/eaWcTGDb
关于我们
Established in 1982, SMPS Atlanta has over 200 members who actively participate in monthly events designed to advocate, educate, and connect leaders in the building industry. The Atlanta Chapter works in concert with the SMPS National staff to achieve the society’s mission by providing business development, networking and education opportunities throughout the year. This success is dependant on our many volunteer members and our dedicated board of directors. The Atlanta Chapter has received recognition at the National Build Business Conference for the past three years. The Striving for Excellence awards include recognition as the top chapter in the nation, best chapter website and newsletter (Inspiration), and outstanding programs and educational events. With your help, our objective is to continue this success. About SMPS The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 by small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. Today, the association has a membership of more than 6,900+ marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada.

The SMPS DEI Committee is truly excited to support and promote Construction Inclusion Week's awareness! We strongly encourage firms to embrace and advocate for diversity in our industry. This week marks the fourth year of Construction Inclusion Week, an industry-wide awareness effort with the mission to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Construction Inclusion Week unites the built environment to focus on creating a more welcoming and inclusive construction industry, involving all company types who take part in building our communities: construction firms, trade partners, architects/designers, owners/clients, municipalities, and other associations. This initiative is not just about raising awareness; it's about providing practical content and actionable resources to advance inclusion. Each day of Construction Inclusion Week is centered on key learning fundamentals: ? Day 1 - Commitment & Accountability ? Day 2 - Belonging ? Day 3 - Supplier Diversity ? Day 4 - Workplace Culture ? Day 5 - Community Engagement A big thank you to the commitment of the organizing and supporting firms who are dedicated to building a more diverse and united industry. When we come together, we stand united in fueling innovation and connection with our employees, clients, industry partners and the communities we serve.
