But beyond clogging, baby wipes can lead to another major problem. ? Wipes can build up between the impeller and seal housing and wrap around the spring assembly, which can lead to water damage and costly repairs. This spring keeps constant pressure on the two seal faces, preventing water from leaking into the motor housing. ? A way to prevent this is by regularly pulling?#pumps?and clearing debris. Even if the pump isn’t fully clogged, debris buildup inside can cause serious damage over time. ???Smith Pump Co. is fabricating five 96" ID suction barrels at our Waco, TX facility. ? These barrels are built from 1/2" thick steel, with a 42" suction inlet and a total length of over 21 feet. They feature a top flange assembly, lifting lugs, and flow turning vanes per specifications. ? The barrels are coated with Tnemec N140 for protection, and each undergoes a full factory weld inspection. A cathodic protection system is included to prevent corrosion. ?
