????How Baby Wipes Cause Hidden Pump Failures???? ? At our?#FortWorth?shop, we recently worked on a?#submersiblesewagepump?clogged by baby wipes—a common issue. But beyond clogging, baby wipes can lead to another major problem. ? Wipes can build up between the impeller and seal housing and wrap around the spring assembly, which can lead to water damage and costly repairs. This spring keeps constant pressure on the two seal faces, preventing water from leaking into the motor housing. ? A way to prevent this is by regularly pulling?#pumps?and clearing debris. Even if the pump isn’t fully clogged, debris buildup inside can cause serious damage over time. Regular maintenance helps avoid costly repairs. ? #SmithPumpCo?#SewagePumps?#Maintenance?#PumpIssues?#FortWorthShop?#WaterInfrastructure?#BabyWipes ?

?? Field Service Update: Addressing Clogging Issues in the DFW Metroplex ?? Earlier this month, our #fieldservice crew at Smith Pump Company were in the DFW metroplex, pulling four vertical #motors and four dry-pit solids handling #sewagepumps. These pumps have been in service for decades but have recently faced chronic clogging issues, mainly due to baby wipes. More than likely wear ring clearances are likely gone, leading to recirculation in the volute and contributing to the clogging. Knowing these pumps haven't been serviced in many years, we're taking them to our Fort Worth repair center. There, they will be torn down and repaired back to OEM specifications. A big thank you to our team for their hard work and dedication to helping our customers to restore these essential #waterandwastewater systems! #SmithPumpCompany #FieldService #PumpRepair #DFW #Maintenance #Infrastructure
