At Smithfield Foods, our deep-rooted connections to American agriculture and our partnerships with thousands of family farmers drive our commitment to educating the next generation on food production. On October 28, during Chinquapin Elementary School’s “Fall in Ag” event, Nancy Kennedy, one of our dedicated feed truck drivers, engaged with students to share the vital role agriculture plays in each of our lives.

This week, we celebrated their dedication at the 2024 ROI Awards Ceremony where we honored team members exemplifying our core values of Responsibility, Operational Excellence and Innovation. From hundreds of nominations, we proudly recognized 21 finalists, six winners, and three grand prize winners.

At Smithfield, we strive to bring people together through our food and our communities; the places where we live, work and raise our families. In our St. Charles, IL community, we recently sponsored their annual Scarecrow Weekend, which hosts more than 80,000 people for food, scarecrow building, games and more!

Our Sioux City, IA facility, where we produce Curly’s brand products, recently received the Linda Schneid Legacy Award from the Food Bank of Siouxland. The award recognizes an individual or organization that has supported the food bank over the course of many years in its mission of fighting hunger throughout the local community. Since our partnership began ten years ago, we have donated over one million pounds of Curly’s product.
