By 1999, her dedication and skill earned her the title of US Army Female Athlete of the Year, and she made history as the first person to win the Triple Crown in shooting. On this day in 1856, Smith & Wesson was incorporated! Baird Wesson & Horace Smith invested roughly $3,600 (~$133,539 today) of their own money into a new company, licensing the patent for the bore-through revolver, purchasing a hand lathe, and developing a wooden prototype of the Model No.1. This partnership was the infancy of the modern Smith & Wesson Inc. Smith & Wesson has always been and will always be dedicated to responsible gun-owners and their freedom and security promised by the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
