From a small family business to a global leader - Smith began with a dining room table and two phone lines when the Ackerley brothers and their wives began to reach out to some of the biggest names in the young computing industry. The startup took root fast thanks to the Ackerleys' deep technical knowledge, market intuition, and some bold decisions. Today, Smith is the leading independent distributor of electronic components with more than 900 employees in more than 20 offices worldwide.
