Today, we pause to honor the incredible men and women who have served our country with dedication, bravery, and sacrifice. One of those heroes is Carl Poe, a wine expert on Smeeple and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. After the tragic events of 9/11, Carl felt a deep call to serve and contribute to the country he loves. Inspired to make a difference, he enlisted in the Navy, where he discovered the true meaning of honor, pride, respect, and discipline. During his service, Carl deployed overseas twice in beautiful Italy and later to Baghdad, Iraq. Carl’s journey reminds us of the immense sacrifices our veterans make and the profound life lessons they bring back with them. Today, he shares his passion for wine and mentorship with the same dedication he showed while serving his country. At Smeeple, we are incredibly proud to have veterans like Carl in our community. We recognize that their experiences, resilience, and leadership enrich every aspect of their lives—and ours. This Veterans Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to Carl and all veterans for their service and sacrifice.
