Did you know that rural electrification helped revolutionize turkey farming in the mid-1940s? Electric cooperatives provided essential power so farmers could efficiently pump water, light barns, and incubate eggs, enabling larger-scale and safer operations. These advancements supported wartime efforts and set the stage for the turkey industry. Check out Then & Now: Gobbling Up Electricity from RE Magazine to learn more about the vital role electric cooperatives have played in shaping rural communities and this country’s agricultural success. https://lnkd.in/dKpN65aD
