One of the three strategic principles that guide the Smart Living Residential development process is "Focus on Simplicity." Today the team started installing the Wafflemat Foundation System. As compared to the traditional dirt box / trenching method widely utilized in construction, this technology saves us approximately 3 - 5 days of labor per building (nearly a month across the project), gives us certainty as to how much concrete is needed per pad (by eliminating sluffing of dirt box walls) and allows us to timely execute and immediately pour concrete after wet weather (by eliminating rework of eroded dirt trenches). Forgoing the inefficient traditional method and leveraging this simplistic, systematic technology helps us achieve our goal of not only returning an attractive yield to our investors, but also consuming building materials and producing our projects in a responsible manner.
