Two weeks from today, #NIST PSCR will present at #FDIC2025 at 10:30a on "Drones and Autonomous Systems: Expanding the Fire Service Toolbox." In addition to discussing the growing role of UAS autonomation in search and rescue, sensor data collection, reconnaissance, and more, PSCR will announce the winners of the First Responder #UAS Wireless Data Gatherer Challenge (UAS 6.0). The Stage 3 Live Contest will be held earlier in the week at Indiana's Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, with seven teams flying their UAS through test courses and a simulated public safety scenario to prove how effectively they can locate, retrieve, and ferry data from sensors in a field to a command station. Prizes include $100K for 1st place, $75K for second place, $50K for third place, up to eight $10K best-in-class awards, and invitations to speak at the #5x5BellevueWA Conference.
