Phil Smallwood passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He founded the firm on one belief: To be the best in all aspects of our services, without compromise. For him, it was the only reason to start a firm. Although he retired 27 years ago, he taught us to raise the bar on design in all that we do, every day, and that is still in our DNA, making Smallwood the success we are today. Thank you, Phil. You are missed but never forgotten.

Smallwood is excited to team with the Cobb County School District, providing architecture and interior design services for Bells Ferry Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia. With a student population of over 750, it was essential for us to develop a plan that would allow the school to remain operational during the renovations. After completing several design studies, we successfully achieved this goal. As we say goodbye to the oldest buildings on-site, the new Bells Ferry campus will feature a multi-story main building that includes new classrooms, an administrative area, a gym, a refreshed cafeteria, and two playgrounds!
