This week is traditionally a time of gratitude–and here at Slipstream, we can't help but feel grateful for our partners, our clients, and everyone we have the privilege to work alongside. Last week, we announced the addition of three new board members – Vanessa Farley, Owen Hull, and Kelly Meissner, – and we're humbled and enthusiastic to receive their guidance and expertise. We'd like to wish all everyone a restful day of reflection during this holiday week. Our offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, but we will be returning on Monday ready to continue our mission of accelerating climate solutions for everyone.

During this season of gratitude, we have a fun little tradition in the Chicago Office. This year was our Third Annual Silent Auction! Our office bid on 12 items, ranging from homemade lasagna, to crocheted bags, to shrimp tanks! The top three hottest items up for bid were a handmade crocheted cardigan, pie from Justice of the Pies, and an art commission. All proceeds were sent to the South Side Community Art Center in Bronzeville and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Kelly is Vice President, Corporate ESG & Sustainability at Ventas, Inc. and a past Chair and current Executive Committee member of the Nareit Real Estate Sustainability Council. She is an active member of the Real Estate Roundtable Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee. Meet Vanessa Farley, one of the newest members of Slipstream’s 2024 Board of Directors. Vanessa currently serves as the Director of Tribal Energy Programs at the Midwest Tribal Energy Resources Association (MTERA), leading all MTERA energy and energy efficiency programs, including Solar for All. As an enrolled member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe, Vanessa brings her expertise to Slipstream as she supports Tribes who are navigating the clean energy transition. From Vanessa: "I am honored to join the Slipstream Board and look forward to contributing my background in deploying clean energy technologies in under-resourced communities to advance Slipstream's mission of an equitable, decarbonized future."
