Here’s the thing: women don’t need freebies. They need spaces where they’re heard.
At Slide, we didn’t set out to build a women-first community and companionship app. But as we shaped it, we realized—just like most of the world, the world of companionship wasn’t built for women. It was built despite them.
Rajeev Roy, one of our founders, has always hated how Women’s Day gets reduced to a marketing gimmick. Meanwhile, Sneha Chaturvedi spent years working in women’s empowerment, knowing that real change doesn’t come from a free drink—it comes from safety, agency, and choice.
That’s why Slide isn’t just an app. It’s a space where women and queer folks set the tone. Where they take up space. Date on their terms. Be heard, not just seen.
So no, we’re not here to hand out discounts. We’re here to build a platform where your voice shapes the experience. Because the relationship fabric of society—like everything else—shouldn’t be something women have to navigate around. It should be built with them at the center.
And oh, to the ones who are going to comment, if paying women less was really so profitable, why aren’t companies hiring more women? ?? Almost like… the pay gap isn’t just about money, but about bias and power. Wild! ??
Because it’s not just about equality. It’s about equity. And then? It’s about making things equitable by design.
Here’s to real change—beyond just one day. ??
P.S. If you’re a woman or non-binary person who believes dating should be built for you, with you—come be part of our Founding Members Community. Your voice, your experiences, your feedback—it’s what will shape Slide. Drop us a DM now :)
