Billie Kirby?has moved full-time into our creative team as our Creative Lead. Anyone who’s worked with Billie knows how effortlessly she shapes ideas into powerful, meaningful experiences. With her sharp brand thinking and creative instinct, this move couldn’t be more well suited. ?? Nivi Packiahrajah?has been promoted to Marketing Manager, leading the charge to make Sleek impossible to ignore. She’s made a huge contribution, bringing energy and ideas - so this is a well-earned step in her career journey. Well done, Billie and Nivi! We can’t wait to see what you do next. ?

Last week I had the privilege of travelling to the Czech capital, Prague for the first time. A country known more for it’s beer ?? and stag dos than it’s rich history and beautiful architecture, I was excited to discover a new destination, while wearing my Sleek Events supplier hat, exploring it as a location for future events. At Sleek they really encourage the team to get out in the field to learn more about the industry and especially different markets, especially now we are running events across the globe from Australia to the USA and everywhere in between. This trip was hosted by Nikki Buse destinations UNLIMITED - DMC Representation , Therese Jakeman from Mandarin Oriental and Markéta Koutenská and Sonia Lounova from AIM Group International . Key highlights for me included; ????The Virtual Reality 5D plum experience at the Slivovitz museum. ????A VIP private Tram exeprience with accordion ?? player. ????A site inspection turned digital treasure hunt quiz ????? at #mandarinorientalprague ????A city tour of the old town with VR headsets to provide reference to all the history in significant locations. ????The biggest traditional Czech lunch at a local brewery on our first day. ????A tour of the Pilsner Urquell experience which used project mapping technology throughout. It was wonderful to spend the weekend with fellow event profs; Rachael White from #TravelTogetherWorldwide , Ross Millward from PARALLEL BLUE GROUP LIMITED, Kerry Coburn from Eventful Limited and Hayley-Rose McGovern from Chill Out! Event Management Ltd , Katie Cabrera from DRPG plus Molly, Laurence, and Dawn. Today, I stepped out of my comfort zone and spent the day away from my laptop. It's easy to associate productivity with screen time, but real value comes from connecting with people in person. Ending the day feeling energised and grateful for the opportunities Sleek Events continues to create. Now, off to dinner with friends—because success is about balance.

Live painting on Notion event. Celebration of Notion whopping 100m users was a great international event where I had a opportunity to work on mural painting. Creating a piece of art that represents Notion's users and their unique experiences with the platform. Amazing collaboration with Sleek Events, who went above and beyond making all this happen. So proud to be part of event of such a great meaning, thought I am using Notion since 5 years personally and it’s my favourite platform to organise everything. Last week, I shared that I was featured in Forbes – or so I believed!! Unfortunately, it turns out that the company representing me fell victim to an educated #scam. Naturally, I felt a mix of emotions: humiliation, anger, sadness, and confusion. But after some #reflection, I realised that, despite how embarrassing the situation is, I owe it to myself and others to share the truth, and most importantly stay true to my values. I’ve always had a complicated relationship with applying for awards and recognition lists, but I’ve also learned that, at times, our external value can be shaped by them. I’m someone who believes in learning from experiences and coming back stronger, and this is no exception!!! So, I’m owning this moment with confidence & pride. That said, two positives have come from this experience: 1. I’ve realised I’m not cut out for fame—the rollercoaster of fake news is not for the faint-hearted! 2. While the recognition wasn’t from #Forbes, they certainly captured my story well, and the facts remain unchanged. Thank you to all those who reached out or commented on the post last week and the individual who alerted me of this news.
