Last week I had the privilege of speaking to MEPs on the TRAN Committee of the European Parliament on the topic of multimodal transport and the need for an ambitious MDMS regulation. Skyscanner shares MEPs’ desire to make it easier for European travellers to compare and combine offers from airlines and train operators, and to empower them to make more sustainable travel choices in the process. Yet we cannot provide consumers with the transparency they deserve on factors such as price and emissions if airlines and rail operators do not share their content with us on a fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory basis. Issues with access to content remain a problem in both the air and rail sector. Some of Europe’s best-known airlines continue to share their content selectively, or try to impose conditions that would prevent consumers from being able to compare different (and potentially cheaper) offers for the same flight. As the EU’s airline market consolidates, this problem will only worsen, so it is vital that any future MDMS regulation includes both airlines and rail operators within its scope. Only then will the original objectives of the MDMS regulation be realised. Thank you to the TRAN Committee for the opportunity to share Skyscanner’s perspective, and to my fellow panellists for an interesting discussion.

We wanted our team to give an honest impression of how they feel about working at Skyscanner. So we sat down with some of them and asked them to tell us their stories. Just like?Mhairi McClair, who talked us through her journey in our Engineering Team. Sound like your kind of place? Our current Engineering Vacancies are here -?https://lnkd.in/gmGduyTq

Skyscanner and Scottish Rugby presents: The Ultimate Reunion Sione and Mosese Tuipulotu qualify for Scotland through their grandmother in Australia, but she’s never seen them play in a Scotland jersey before. That is, before we teamed up Scottish Rugby to bring the Greenock Granny home ?? #UltimateTravelHack | #AsOne

Every year, everyone at Skyscanner gets £300 to spend on travel. We call it our Discover Incentive and it's one of our most popular perks. Whether you go camel trekking in the Sahara like Camila Velásquez, see the natural wonders of Iceland like Jenna Mclelland, hike through the mountains of Uzbekistan like Amelia Fitzpatrick or take an adventure round Thailand like Sara Kovacheska - we want our team to see this wonderful world.

I've now been at Skyscanner for 15 years (which when someone pointed out that the first iPad came out 14 years ago really hit home!).?In those early days in Leith, with only a handful of staff, it was the people and culture that made the company so special.?And even now, many years later, it’s very much the same today. This video we shot a few weeks ago captures it perfectly???. #WeAreSkyscanner
