WHAT AN INCREDIBLE experience! Skyfire | AI had the honor, and the privilege, of being selected for and participating as a finalist in the Harvard Business School New Venture Competition #NVC2025. We were truly honored to be finalists among such an impressive group of startups. Being selected was a powerful validation our mission to use #AIforgood and #dronesforgood to deploy life-saving solutions that support first responders. It was a proud accomplishment for the Skyfire | AI team, a celebration of our track record of lives saved [the most important metric], our growth, and our vision. Drawn from the alumni population of Harvard Business School, dozens of start-ups across every sector imaginable entered; 20 were chosen to present during “Demo Day” last week. 5 had the privilege of being in the Final Round. Moreover.... as an HBS alum and prior EIR for Harvard Innovation Labs / HBS Rock Center for Entrepreneurship, having the opportunity to present in front of the judges, that audience, and my fellow alumni entrepreneurs was extremely meaningful for me. The event was a testament, in my mind, to the best of the HBS community and experience. SO MANY great companies, a reflection of the entrepreneurial spirit at HBS! (And not just the ones that presented on Wed. night, but the ones I saw at Demo Day). Loved my fellow finalists: Barnwell Bio, founded by Casey McGinley. Oh man, SO cool! Barnwell Bio is building a data platform to monitor health and wellness of livestock and poultry via?environmental samples like manure and waste streams. Fantastic! And, Casey was impressive, thoughtful and a great speaker. Krida, founded by Shivangi Khanna and Sophie Jewsbury. The 1st Place Winner, Krida is one of the coolest fin:tech start-ups I’ve seen, utilizing genAI to take the friction & pain out of business banking. Shivangi gave a fantastic presentation! Pari Drinks, founded Alessia Vettese. Developing premium, better-for-you, zero proof adult beverages for health conscious, social, and high-performing consumers….. their drinks were really good, and felt like a brilliant move to me to create this particular offering, given the evolving beverage market. Alessia crushed the presentation. The Together Achieving Dreams Foundation (TAD), founded by Kathryn Webster and winner of the Runner-Up award. Helping to increase employment for the blind and low-vision communities: truly inspiring, and Kathryn was amazing.
