Hurricanes Helene and Milton impacted many members of the Skydio team. And even more Skydio employees volunteered to travel to the hardest areas to support our colleagues and first responders. After Hurricane Milton passed through St. Petersburg, Florida, first responders and city officials were confronted with a collapsed crane that hit an adjacent building. In what is clearly a dangerous situation, Skydio supported first responders to assess the damage safely by autonomously scanning the scene with an X10. The 3D rendering was produced immediately for decision makers to review. Skydio is grateful for the St. Petersburg first responders and their selfless work, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to support them. Check out the footage (sped up and trimmed) to see how the drone performed the scan under these conditions.

Visit us at ?????????? #???? at #UAWeek to learn how autonomous drones are the tools that utilities need to capture the data needed to make better, faster decisions with more confidence.
As we recognize the importance of capturing the utility data that’s hidden in plain sight, one downstream effect is having too much of a good thing. With a comprehensive view of your assets, the next step in the workflow is identifying the relevant and important information - but the logistics of data flow and platform integration are not always straightforward. Come join us this Wednesday morning at #UAWeek as Skydio and Levatas share the evolution of the utility workflow, and how seamless integrations can get you from Flight to Insight! Bring your questions, we hope to see you there! #utilityanalytics Info below ????

I went to Asheville this week and saw firsthand the enormous value drones can provide in hurricane recovery. Spurred on by Chief Michael Lamb, Captain Brandon Moore, and Asheville Police Department leadership, the drone industry response was incredible. I was especially impressed by the work of the DroneSense, Inc. team Coitt Kessler, Brandon Karr, Michael Traylor, MS coordinating efforts and staffing central operations, and of course, the dozens of agencies that showed up to do whatever was needed. Unfortunately, the need may be even higher in Florida this week. As Florida braces for the impact of Hurricane Milton, we are sending a major contingent of Skydians - spanning product, engineering, SE, CSM, and executives - with appropriate equipment to help with the response. I encourage others in the industry to share their support pathways in the comments below to serve as a collective list of resources available to first responders across sectors. Axon, Rick Smith, Vern Sallee, Blake Resnick, Trae Stephens, George Matus, Fritz Reber, Chris S., Armada, Jon Runyan, Emma Richman, T-Mobile, T-Mobile For Business, Esri. If you are impacted by this storm and Skydio can help, please DM me, Kabe Termes, or Bryan King.

This week the?Oklahoma National Guard, with our partners, conducted a UAS exercise integrating multiple agencies drones into a single domestic emergency response / incident command. Interagency response, critical infrastructure protection and even maneuver warfighting capability in a drone ubiquitous era will demand dynamic airspace management architecture. We know this capability directly aligns with OKGuards dual missions of warfighting readiness and support to the Homeland.? The exercise brought together the OKGuard, state and local agencies, and public-private UAS companies to establish a distributive common operating picture, allocate airspace to responding agencies, adapt to dynamic tasking and seek solutions to detect and avoid non-compliant drones in the response airspace, all while seeking to ensure public safety.? This exercise and future iterations will mature the OKGuard’s role in responding to natural disasters across Oklahoma and prepare our junior leaders for the strategic environment to come.
