Exciting that all our hard work is starting to get noticed. I spoke at FMI Energy two weeks ago (a leading industry group for supermarkets) and presented findings from pilots with one of our customers. The takeaways for supermarkets: SkyCool reduces energy usage by 10% to 15% , can reduce water in evaporative condensers by up to 40%, and reduce the # of transcritical hours for CO2 systems by up to 100%
Roof-mounted heat rejection panels, produced by California-based SkyCool Systems Inc., provide pre-cooling for #CO2 (R744) refrigeration systems to cut transcritical operation during high ambient temperature conditions, said company Co-Founder and CTO Eli Goldstein. According to Goldstein, an optical film on the panel ‒ developed by Stanford University and vetted by the U.S. Department of Energy ‒ reflects solar energy and emits heat in the form of infrared light back into space. A closed water/glycol loop connects the panels to the refrigeration system via a heat exchanger. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gdKUFAxK #GoNatRefs #NaturalRefrigerants #FMIConference #TranscriticalCO2 Sign up to our NaturalRefrigerants.com weekly newsletter https://lnkd.in/dBj2FWvR
