And it feels personal, which people love. Here’s how to get referrals/reviews via text: → Ask at the right moment Send a message soon after a great experience. After a service, sale, or when they say “thank you.” But do it during regular business hours. → Keep it personal Use their name. Mention their service. For example, “Hey [Name], glad you loved [Service]. Know anyone else who could use it?” → Make it easy Include a link to your Google reviews page or give them a pre-written message for them to use to refer. → Offer incentives Give something back.     I wrote 5 text messages that led to $49,097 in?revenue for a Skipio customer that did online coaching. Here’s why it worked. They basically had a graveyard of leads who canceled or no-showed to an appointment. To quote their team: “Those no-shows … just fell right off the cliff. We had nothing in place to bring them back in.” So Skipio's team built the process to restart the conversations, including a CTA to reschedule. It took just 30 days for those once forgotten leads to bring in nearly $50,000 for this customer. Here’s 4 things that made this automated process & 5 text messages work. ?? The sales reps sounded APPROACHABLE. The tone and word choice I used in the messages didn’t put extra pressure on the leads; it made the sales reps sound curious and eager to help. ?? The messages focused on ONE NEXT STEP. I wrote the messages to make it a no-brainer for a lead to respond and do one simple thing: reschedule. No additional steps needed. ? The timing wasn’t OVERWHELMING. This wasn’t 5 messages over 5 days — this was 5 messages over 10+ days. Skipio's process kept running until a lead responded or rescheduled, but it wasn’t bombarding anyone. ?? Their sales team was dedicated to PERSONAL INTERACTIONS. First, it was clear the messages came from a person, not a bot (even though Skipio fully automated the outreach). Second, the team was always ready to reply. The process magnified the great foundation of customer care that they’d already built. TLDR; Customers pay attention to you when you genuinely pay attention to them — build your processes accordingly. P.S.     If you think follow-ups don’t matter, you’re wrong. Here’s 11 situations where quick follow-ups can make or break you: → Someone just texted you You didn’t reply? Say goodbye to that relationship. → You promised to text them Didn't keep that promise? People notice and they remember. → You changed something (hours, services, etc.) Assume people will find out? They won’t. Tell them! → They bought from you Ask how their experience was. No follow-up = no feedback. → Someone gave you a referral Thank them! Or watch your referral chain disappear. → They just came back after a long time Customers aren’t guaranteed. Show them you care. → First-time buyer Thank them. Nurture them. Convert them into repeat buyers. → You should’ve heard back by now Check-in but don't overwhelm or annoy them. → Just had a meeting/appointment Text to confirm the next step.
