We partner with people to transform education systems, nurturing the brilliance and power of Detroit youth.
关于我们
At The Skillman Foundation, our grantmaking and advocacy is designed for, and shaped by, the rising Generation Z and their demand for an equitable education system – one that produces career-ready skills and rewards independent, creative thinkers who solve old problems and forge new worlds. We are in the process of developing new, community-informed strategies with Detroiters. Follow updates here and by visiting www.skillman.org. As we seek to highlight multiple perspectives about education systems change, views and opinions expressed on this page are those of the authors and not necessarily the official position of The Skillman Foundation. Angelique Power shared the stage with Monica Moser, president & CEO of the?Jackson Community Foundation, at the Council of Michigan Foundations Annual Conference to discuss why and how #philanthropy can engage in policy advocacy. The session explored ways foundations can contribute #time, #talent, and #treasure to #policy #advocacy efforts. “The strongest way to work on policy is in coalition,” said Power. This is the key to creating more equitable and effective policies, she said. “With policy in action, each step is like a new clue to solving the mystery of #equity.” Read more here: https://bit.ly/4dZUczC
