SKIA presents the world’s first markerless augmented reality for patient education and surgical navigation. SKIA’s markerless augmented reality technology allows you to see inside the patient, just like having x-ray vision but without the risk of radiation. This technology has been applied to breast cancer and maxillofacial surgeries in Korea. To bring SKIA’s next-gen AR technology to India, SKIA India was founded in December 2023. SKIA’s navigation accuracy is 1.5mm which is well within the US FDA’s recommended accuracy of 2mm. SKIA has already been approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and is expected to receive US FDA approval by July. Ultimately, SKIA helps the patient and the patient's family to understand their medical condition better and aids surgeons to plan more accurately and minimize deviations during surgery.

It has obviously come to my attention that I should update my LinkedIn more! Our latest news consists of a few important things that I would like to share with our friends and partners. 1. We are very excited to share that we are preparing to deploy a patient education solution using augmented reality with Abhishek Bandaru and Dr.Manjula Anagani. We are grateful for their energy and efforts in pushing this forward to India. 2. We will also be participating and exhibiting at the Expand North Star 2023 and #SupernovaChallenge2023! This will take place on October 15th-18th, so for those who are nearby or will be visiting Dubai during this period, please drop by our booth! We will be located in Hall 2 Upper Level amongst the many Korean booths. More updates will follow.

SKIA’s Tim Kim and ChanUng Park have landed in India and is making our presence known to hospitals in Hyderabad. Thanks to great partnership and friendship from Abhishek Bandaru, we visited AMERICAN ONCOLOGY INSTITUTE - Precision Cancer Care and Star Hospitals to introduce our technology and kick-start the patient education AR solution. After a month of working with Dr. Manas’ neurosurgery team at?KIMS Hospitals?Secunderabad, a press conference was held for national coverage of our revolutionary technology. Thanks to Dr. Manas Panigrahi, one of the world’s leading neurosurgeon, SKIA’s world’s first markerless augmented reality has proven once again its effectiveness and accuracy for neurosurgery. So far 18 patients have undergone neurosurgery with SKIA’s surgical navigation. Crowning achievements were: - The world’s first markerless augmented reality-guided craniotomy - The world’s first augmented reality-guided ETV(Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy) - The world’s first augmented reality-guided Moyamoya disease treatment SKIA’s accuracy was cross-checked with the existing navigation system(the golden standard) and ultrasound and the doctors were able to correlate the tumor’s location from SKIA’s AR projection. The existing navigation requires the patient’s head to be screwed into a stereotactic frame increases patient’s anesthesia time, operation costs, and recovery time. SKIA’s technology can be quickly applied pinless and at a bedside. Even junior surgeons were able to plan the surgery, saving anesthesia time, reduce cost and improve recovery time for the patients. Moreover, SKIA’s compact and mobile device allows the planning to happen outside the operation theater, allowing the patient and the patient family to understand the plan. This level of patient counseling and understanding has never existed before and we are glad to see the patient and patient family relieved of stress after understanding so much. We look forward to continuing working with Dr. Manas and his team to scale up this amazing technology and make it accessible to many patients.
