This month would have marked the 19th anniversary of the International Women of Courage Awards, established in 2007 by the State Department to honor women worldwide who demonstrate exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights, and gender equality. This year, however, there was no official recognition of the courageous women leading these efforts worldwide. ?
