???Spotlight on Dexter Yard??? In the heart of Seattle’s South Lake Union, Dexter Yard exemplifies innovative urban living with a strong sense of community. Urban Accessories contributed to this dynamic project with custom cast metal tiles, designed in collaboration with GCH Planning and Landscape Architecture and SkB Architects. Drawing inspiration from existing tree grate patterns, these tiles not only elevate the aesthetic appeal but also add a unique, community-focused touch. Crafted from durable ductile iron with a rust conditioner finish, these tiles are built to last with minimal maintenance, making them a key feature in this urban space. The patterning of the tower fenestration at 400 Fairview was inspired by the rustic weave found in natural fabrics, such as linen, flax, or silk—irregularities contributing to its relaxed, natural feel.
