The SJSU MFA 2024–2025 cohort is excited to announce Liftoff 2025, an annual group exhibition being hosted by ICA San José and curated by Zo? Latzer. This year’s exhibition, Who ‘am’ I, without you?, draws inspiration from Judith Butler and explores how artists navigate connection, identity, and creation in the midst of a rapidly shifting world. Presented in two parts, the first exhibition opens April 4, with the second to follow later this summer. Alongside their individual thesis shows, MFA candidates collaborate with MA Art History and Visual Culture students to produce the annual Liftoff Catalogue, and present new works across painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, digital media, and installation. We invite you to join us for the opening reception on April 4, from 5–9 PM at ICA San José.
