Did you know, that you can choose to have different shades of concrete? The actual color of concrete that you see on most roads you drive on is "Dove". The City of Galena have infrastructure roads dated back to the 1840's. Most of the roads were built of red brick. If you haven't visited this beautiful city, in the most recent years, they are getting a massive update to their US Business 20 Roadway, that leads right to the heart of their historic town. This road reconstruction will attract even more tourism and businesses to their area. The City of Galena liked the character of the old brick pavement appearance, so they worked with Illinois Department of Transportation, and chose this color called "Coachella" to be added to the concrete pavement, to keep that characteristic look alive! Sjostrom & Sons, Inc. at it again! Another successful day of pouring hundreds of CY for Orchard Hills Landfill! We have Cement Finishers, Laborers, Carpenters, Operators, & Teamsters, and a one of a kind Schwing Pump Truck! All working together to deliver a high quality product to our client!

Sjostrom & Sons, Inc. is the General Contractor for Ameresco, of this renewable natural gas plant in Lee County. Equipment Foundations were needed for the client. This self-performance project involved craftmanship skills of Union Carpenters, Cement Finishers, Operators, & Laborers, working together! Shout out to Sterling Commercial Roofing for the epic drone shot of this project!

Today is a wonderful day to set some new PPC beams at our Babler Road jobsite, over Brush Creek! Sjostrom is replacing the existing structure with single span PPC Deck Beam structure on concrete abutments, with reconstruction of aggregate approaches and riprap replacement. This crew is exceptional, working safely, together, and delivering this quality finished product to Illinois Department of Transportation!

Sjostrom & Sons, Inc. was able to be a part of the team with Scandroli Construction Co. of the rebuild of the Rockford Public Library downtown! We provided various specialties for interior and exterior finishes, to help contribute to this final product. This library is going to be a great asset to the River District Community.
