Celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth by honoring the trailblazers who’ve shaped the Energy industry with their resilience, brilliance, and excellence. Their contributions continue to power our communities and drive sustainable energy forward. Annie Easley’s pioneering work at NASA began in 1955 when she worked as a human-computer analyzing nuclear energy research. In the '60s, she became a computer scientist, developing code for alternative energy technologies, including hybrid vehicle batteries and rocket systems. Easley’s groundbreaking career and advocacy for equality continue to inspire innovation and inclusivity in energy. Hazel O'Leary’s leadership in the energy sector has had a lasting impact. From her early work championing energy consumers’ rights to becoming the U.S. Secretary of Energy, O'Leary advanced renewable energy and energy efficiency, helping lay the foundation for today’s clean energy achievements. We also honor Garrett Morgan, whose inventions, including the modern traffic light and a precursor to the gas mask, revolutionized safety and transportation. His innovations continue to inspire future generations. These leaders have paved the way for progress, inspiring future generations to continue driving innovation, sustainability, and equality in the energy sector and beyond.

We’re excited to announce that we are now accepting proposals for our new electric vehicle (EV) incentive program! ? Qualified consultants or firms are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity to accelerate EV adoption in environmental justice communities. Our program will provide financial incentives in the form of discounts at the point of sale (POS) for eligible SJCE customers when they purchase or lease a new or used EV from participating, qualified dealerships. ?
