  • Guilty Plea-Vacaville man pleads guilty to sexual crime against a minor San Joaquin County District Attorney, Ron Freitas announces Andre Henix of Vacaville, has pled guilty to a single count of 288.7(a), (Sexual Penetration: Victim Under 10 Years of Age, Felony) and is scheduled to be sentenced to 25 years to life. Henix was found guilty of engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior with the victim, who was 10 years old at the time of the incident. A family member discovered the inappropriate behavior and the police were contacted immediately. Henix was arrested shortly thereafter, and forensic evidence further corroborated the victim's account. "I commend Deputy District Attorney Carrie Lawrence for her dedication to securing justice in this case. The outcome marks our commitment to protecting children from harm. Crimes against children will be met with the full force of the law by my Office”, says District Attorney Ron Freitas. “I also extend my gratitude to the Stockton Police Department and Chief McFadden for their efforts in securing an arrest, investigating the case fully, and obtaining all necessary forensic evidence. Lastly, my heartfelt thanks to the Honorable Richard Mallett for his wise and compassionate oversight of this case.” Next Court date: May 13, 2024, in Department 6D at 1:30 p.m. for sentencing.

  • Douglas Rivaselias Sentenced to 25 Years to Life in State Prison San Joaquin District Attorney Ron Freitas is pleased to announce that the Honorable Ronald A. Northup, sentenced Douglas G. Rivaselias, 23, of Manteca, to 25 years to Life in State Prison. On November 30, 2023, Rivaselias entered a Guilty plea to a Felony PC 261(a)(2) Rape by Force, and a Felony PC 287(c)(2)(C) Oral Copulation Upon a Minor 14 Years of Age or Older, both Strikes under California’s Three Strikes Law. Rivaselias also Admitted Special Allegations on both counts to PC 667.61(d)2) Kidnapping the Victim which substantially increased the risk of harm. Additionally, Rivaselias is ordered to register pursuant to PC 290, provide AIDs testing, and follow other standard supplemental orders provided by the People. The San Joaquin District Attorney's Office would like to extend its gratitude to Judge Northup and the dedicated prosecution team and Victim Witness Advocates, for their hard work in bringing justice in this case. Deputy District Attorney Elaine Casillas-Franco exemplifies unwavering dedication and grit in navigating the complex and emotionally challenging cases within our CASA Unit. We commend her and the team for their exceptional commitment and resilience. We must also thank the Manteca Police Department and Chief Schluer for their unabated pursuit of bringing this defendant to justice. “Our office stands firm on our commitment to holding accountable those who commit heinous crimes against children.” District Attorney Ron Freitas says of the outcome. “We will pursue justice strenuously, ensuring every child receives the protection and support they deserve.”
