Stop what you're doing and read this article from Amanda Natividad. It might be one of the most important things you read this year. "How to Turn Audience Research Into Content Ideas" Honestly there is a lot of Shiny Object Syndrome in the SEO and larger marketing community where folks are too often chasing the most niche, one-off technical tips and overlooking the meat and potatoes tactics like this. Here's Amanda's process: Figure out what your audience is asking □ Customer service logs? □ Social media comments (Use exportcomments dot com) □ Competitor Q&As? □ Sales calls??? □ Community discussions? □ Google's "People Also Ask" Tip: Gather information from these sources and synthesize insights w/ AI. I like Claude's Extended mode for this. Determine their pain points □ Reviews? □ Social listening? □ Customer interviews? □ Surveys? □ Support tickets? □ Reddit? □ SparkToro?(Relevant Topics, Broad Interests, Related Questions) Tip: Create charts w/ Claude to help you determine priorities. Determine how they talk □ Common Phrases □ Industry Terms □ Metaphors/Analogies Tip: LLMs are great for this! It's language analysis, after all. Determine content consumption patterns □ Popular topics □ Preferred formats □ Sharing patterns □ Engagement triggers Transform triggers into frameworks □ Problem - solution (Claude is great at writing within this framework) □ Misconception - reality (ditto) □ How to □ Comparison □ Trends & analysis Validate and prioritize your ideas □ Audience need □ Business value □ Content gap □ Evergreen potential Tip: AI can make this kind of analysis quick and easy. It'll get you most of the way and then you can make small tweaks at the endpoint. Plan your content □ Format □ Completion date □ Repurposing formats □ Success metrics Tip: I know this is turning into a Claude promotion but the tool is SO good at repurposing for various platforms, as long as you give it the right prompt. Go audience-first in 2025, let that guide your initiatives, and you'll have an amazingly successful year.
