Another insight packed quarterly report from DataTribe and John Funge. A critical issue they highlight is Salt Typhoon, the Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) group from Chinese that infiltrated major US telecoms to steal data. Among the actions companies can take to reduce risk of attack from Salt Typhoon and others is complete and current visibility - "Know Thyself." This means knowing every open port (all 65,535 all the time), IPV4 AND IPv6, all subsidiaries, all acruired companies, all domains, and on and on. In recent work with customers, SixMap, Inc. has identified over 1,300 instances of vulnerabilities known to be exploited by Salt Typhoon, Volt Typhoon and other Chinese APTs.
