Last week, I had the privilege of mentoring 13 innovative Colombian startups during the ProColombia Venture - Capital Immersion Program—my second experience working with PROCOLOMBIA startups this year! ?? Drawing on my experience working on both coasts of the U.S.—from Silicon Valley to South Florida, I shared insights on what U.S. investors truly look for in startups: from key growth metrics to standout legal and operational frameworks. We dove deep into the common legal pitfalls startups face and how to navigate challenges when seeking not just investors but also strategic partners and clients in the U.S. It was incredible to witness the drive and ambition of these founders! The session focused on guiding founders preparing to expand into the U.S. market—a rewarding experience enriched by thoughtful questions and innovative ideas from the participants. - Mentoring at Mana Tech I also had the honor of mentoring during Immersion Week at Mana Tech, one of Florida’s leading accelerators transforming Miami’s startup ecosystem. The entrepreneurs I worked with represented diverse industries and stages of growth, but all shared the goal of making a strong impact in the U.S. market.
