In 2020, our founder Mary Lourdes Saenz had an experience with a young foster girl that changed her life. That encounter was the spark that drove Mary to found Sisters-in-Arms. Our foundation is that EVERY young woman has the right to realize her FULL potential. We provide programs, mentoring and most of all a community that will cheer them on and wrap our arms around them. Did you know that as part of our program we provide each participant with a clothing allowance? Clothing is a huge part of how we feel about ourselves. The right clothing for a situation provides us with confidence and positive energy. Each of our young women receives a clothing allowance to be used towards professional clothing as well as tips and guidance on how to dress. This is just another way we arm them for success! We feel no girl aging out should be alone. We want to wrap our arms around them, while arming them for a successful future. We don't want them to just survive, we want them to THRIVE!
